Lana stared down Cia, waiting for a flicker of movement. She didn’t need a motive to attack but she knew to be cautious. Cia was crafty in ways Lana didn’t think herself possible.
Apparently, she was that crafty but Lana had never realized it.
“Well, are you going to keep standing there or will you fight me?”
Lana gritted her teeth, raising her staff defensively but holding her ground. Her body was tense, a spring squeezed too tight. A thrill of need was there but Lana ignored it. Cia smirked, raising a finger to motion her forward.
“Come get me.”
