new prompt table challenge - theme suggestion post

So, the Shakespeare Quotes prompt table challenge is officially over (though it's still fine if you want to sneak in a last few fics) and that means it's time for a new challenge!

And a new challenge means a new set of prompts, so this is the theme suggestion post. Feel free to suggest anything you think would make a good overall theme for a table of prompts, and be as creative as you like. If you want some examples, you can check out last year's suggestion post here.

This post will be open for one week, and then we'll have a poll to decide what the next prompt table will be!

halsey song lyrics? i'm partial to her because she's an excellent writer and openly bisexual. but in general, lyrics are inspiring to me. or poem fragments.

Ooh, yes, I love Halsey's lyrics! And poem fragments seems to be a pretty popular suggestion so it there'll be a good few of those in the poll.

i love the idea of poetry as inspiration, so i'd like to nominate rupi kaur and h.d., or anything using the literature of virginia woolf, given how poetic her works are :)

Those would all work really well! Poetry makes such great prompts, I think the Sappho quotes were my favorite theme table so far, so more would be awesome.

A mixed bag of poetry would be a nice switch up. Maybe quotes from a small handful of authors? Helen Oyeyemi has a lovely way with words. Moonface is a band with some quotable lyrics, also.

A mixed bag would be good! I'd really like to do something where everyone suggested their favorite poems and those were the table. And definite yes on Helen Oyeyemi, she's brilliant.

i'd be interested in prompts based on flower language! (i may have already done these once before, but i'd love to see everyone's take on prompts like these)
here is a really good reference for tons of flowers and their meanings from all types of sources.

Oh, I like that one! I remember years ago that was an option for one of the femslash100 drabble cycles and it never got enough votes but it always fascinated me as an idea for a theme set. :)

We do pretty well with poetry fragments, I think, but, if it were me, I'd suggest something like 'colors' for a theme. (Then again, there's a whole family of communities for that type of prompt, heh.)

Poetry fragments do seem pretty popular, but 'colors' would be something different, I like that. If that doesn't win in the poll, I feel like various colors would make for some good weekly prompts, actually!

How about something like lesbian/bi-female artists lyrics? Like song lyrics/snippets or even song titles from lesbian and bi-female artists! =D (I'm really partial to Hayley Kiyoko as of late, and Halsey. x3 )

Oh yes! I think we had a similar suggestion to that last year and it was one of the most popular options in the poll, so definitely!
