Challenge 357 - Mystery - Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Dawn/Faith - Reading
Title: Reading
Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Pairing: Faith Lehane/Dawn Summers
Rating: Teen
Prompt: 357 - mystery
Word Count: 172
Summary: It's not a mystery how this will end up
“What are you reading?” Faith asked.
Dawn didn't look up from the book, just tilted it so that Faith could see the cover. “And Then There Were None.”
“Kind of gives the way the ending, doesn't it?”
“Have you read it?”
“Nope. I'm more in favor of the kind of book with bare-chested men and long-haired women on the cover. They were easier to permanently borrow from the library.”
“Long hair does it for you?” Faith watched as Dawn ran a hand through her hair.
“It might.”
“So you only read romances?”
“Read? Skimmed usually. I got quite an education from those stories.”
Dawn turned the page of her book.
“So... are you going to stay there curled up with your book, or do you want to curl up with me and I show you what I learned?”
Dawn took a slip of paper from the side table, placed it in the book and closed the cover. “Was there ever a mystery as to which option I would choose?” she asked, smiling.
