“Unnie, will you a take a photo of me?” Yizhuo asked, drawing Jimin’s attention away from her phone. She was sitting on her bed, in front of her brand new sunset lamp she bought online a few days ago. It took Jimin some time to get used to the vibrant magenta light filling the room on slow evenings like these, but all the members have an eye for pretty things and she had to admit that she grew to appreciate the atmosphere it created in their shared bedroom.
It also made Yizhuo’s visuals shine like never before. The dim light completely drowned out the dull surroundings and the orb the lamp cast on the blank wall behind her looked like a halo around her.
“It’s a gorgeous set, Ning. The fans are going to love it,” Jimin said in lieu of an agreement, getting up from her own bed and reaching for the phone her friend was holding up.
“I know, I really like the way it makes me look. I took a lot of pictures earlier, but it’s always better if someone else takes it.” With her hands free Yizhuo scooted up the bed to lean against the wall and drew one of her legs up to rest her head against her knee. “How’s this pose? Do I look sexy?”
It was phrased like a question, but Jimin knew she wasn’t expecting a real answer, she knew it already. The younger’s confidence grew exponentially since their debut and it made Jimin simultaneously smile and worry about the state of her own heart in the future. She gave her a thumbs up and moved the phone to hold it like a real camera.
“Yes, yesssss! Just like that!” She called out in English, mimicking the photographer who shot their last magazine spread, as Yizhuo slightly changed her poses. Jimin’s dedication to the silly act finally made her crack after a few moments and she broke the intense eye contact with the phone camera to giggle into her hand.
“Unnie, stop! That’s not the mood I was going for,” she complained after a while, playfully glaring at Jimin, who was going through the pictures.
“I think we got it already, but to be honest I think the last photo is the best out of all of them.” She paused her scrolling to stop and look at the most recent picture. It came out slightly blurry, the camera couldn’t follow the movement of Yizhuo’s hand as it came up to cover her smile, but it was easily Jimin’s favourite. “Very candid.”
“Oh, that’s the worst, I can’t post that!” Yizhuo moved to look at the screen and see it for herself. Jimin wanted to tell her to keep it for herself only, but she stayed quiet as she watched the younger carefully evaluate every picture she took.
“Maybe you were right, it looks very good. It still doesn’t fit on twitter though...” Yizhuo hummed thoughtfully, locking her screen and setting her phone down on the blanket. “I might keep it privately for now though.”
