The robe long abandoned, Vivian remained in bed with the covers nearly tucked up to her chin as she watched Cay dress.
“Where are you going?”
“Work,” said Cay.
“Oh.”
“I wish I could stay longer.”
“Me too.”
“You could come to the casino with me.”
“And do what?”
“Gamble. Have a drink. Hang out.”
“Everyone would know.”
“Most people that come to the casino aren't successful. And those that aren't successful are generally unobservant. No one will know unless we tell them.” She leaned down and gave Vivian a kiss.
“You're better at hiding things than I am. If I went with you, I don't think I'd be able to look anywhere but you. Come back tonight?” Vivian asked, a note of uncertainty in her tone.
Cay kissed her again, longer this time. When she drew back, she smiled. “Count on it.”
