CHALLENGE 217: BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! - 'my girlfriend says the darndest things.'
Title: my girlfriend says the darndest things
Fandom: BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!!
Pairing: Misaki/Kokoro
Rating: G
Prompt: [217] Magic
Word Count: 710
Summary: Kokoro needs a little something from Misaki before their performance.
Kokoro said the darndest things. Honestly, Misaki didn’t even really know what it was her girlfriend was saying half of the time (but she loved her, even in spite of that).
“Your kisses are like magic, Misaki,” Kokoro had said to her once, on Misaki’s janky couch, when Misaki had clumsily leaned forward on an impulse to peck Kokoro’s lips, face red. Misaki wouldn’t call herself unenthusiastic, but Kokoro always livened their kisses up. It embarrassed her to admit it to herself, but Kokoro was probably the better kisser between the two. Still though, Kokoro would praise Misaki’s kisses. “I wanna have Misaki’s kisses to myself forever!”
Misaki scratched the back of her head. “Forever…?” She uttered with a sheepish smile on her face.
“Forever! Can you promise me that?” Kokoro asked expectantly, fluttering her bunches of eyelashes right in Misaki’s direction.
Sweat broke out on the back of Misaki’s neck. To imagine forever with Kokoro… it wasn’t as if she didn’t like the idea. It’s just that they were so young, and forever was so far away. “I can promise them at least every day…?” Misaki’s voice trailed off in the face of Kokoro’s beaming smile. If Misaki’s kisses were magic to Kokoro, then Kokoro’s smile was Misaki’s kryptonite. In the best way imaginable, of course.
Kokoro looked satisfied with Misaki’s answer, however. She snuggled herself into Misaki’s arms, and said, “Then, whenever I need some magic, I’ll take a kiss from Misaki.”
Harohapi was to perform today. Kokoro was never nervous, of course. Kaoru would perform sonnets loudly to herself to prepare if she was feeling a little jittery. Hagumi would do stretches. If Misaki had to pick who was the most nervous out of all of them in the band, it’d be herself and Kanon. Though really, being inside of the Michelle suit was more of a bother than it was a nerve-wracking experience. Being shielded from the eyes of the crowd was the only good thing about being inside of that damn bear.
Kokoro stretched her arms over her head and made a “mm!” sound. “It’s almost time! I’m so excited! But, but…” Kokoro hummed. “It seems like there’s something missing?” She mused aloud to herself, voice searching and curious.
Misaki, inside of Michelle, turned to look at Kokoro through the eyes of the mascot costume. Kokoro looked right back at her, and then her eyes lit up in a way that signified to Misaki, “Oh no, she has an idea.” Whatever could it be this time? Misaki silently prayed that her girlfriend would have mercy on them all, however much she loved her.
Kokoro skipped right up to Michelle and knocked on her fuzzy head. “Michelle, can you open up so I can talk to Misaki?” She asked.
Misaki blinked, but she did as was asked of her. Take off her head, at a time like this? It was almost time to perform! She could hear Kanon go, “U, um, is that really such a good idea?” in the distance.
“It’s alright, Kanon,” Misaki said as she removed Michelle’s head, facing Kokoro still, to reveal her own head underneath. She was already a bit sweaty from the humidity, and her black hair stuck lightly to her face. “Is this fine, Kokoro…?”
Kokoro hummed happily. “Uhuh!” She said in confirmation, and then she stretched up a little on her toes give Misaki a kiss right on the lips. Misaki’s eyes widened at the warm sensation. It was a quick kiss, their lips barely grazing each other, but when Kokoro leaned back, she threw her arms up and said, “Mm! Yup! That’s just the magic I needed.” Kokoro’s yellow eyes sparkled at Misaki, and she smiled warmly, a quick moment reserved for just the two of them. Misaki’s heartbeat quickened so much that she could hear it in her ears. “Now let’s go! Harohapi!”
Kokoro skipped off just like that. Hagumi and Kaoru followed, and as Kaoru passed by Misaki, she patted her on the shoulder. Kanon walked by Misaki next.
“D, don’t forget Michelle’s head,” Kanon reminded her, and Misaki made a face as she secured the bear’s head back onto her furry pink body, heart still thumping within her at the thought of Kokoro’s smile.
