[212 Possibility] Cross Her Palm (Disney Ducks)
Title: Cross Her Palm
Fandom: Disney Ducks
Characters/Pairings: Daisy Duck/Magica De Spell
Rating: G
Words: 226
Notes:Ask me about Disney comics' portrayal of Daisy Duck's femininity.
It’s a silly thing, Daisy realizes, but silly things are fun—something men never seem to understand. She opens her palm to the woman in the shadows. The coins on the soothsayer’s shawl jingle as she leans forward and touches Daisy’s fingers one by one to open her palm. It sends a surprising shiver of pleasure down her spine.
The woman smiles and looks up at her with eyes that see too much. Suddenly, this doesn’t seem so silly anymore. “What… what do you see?”
“A beautiful girl,” says the witch in a voice like the hum of fire, “who is wasting herself on worthless boys.”
Daisy’s words stop in her throat. What does one say to that?
“You owe them nothing. The one that’s good for nothing, or the one that’s all flash with no substance.” Her fingers caress Daisy’s palm, no longer even pretending it is for the sake of her craft. “There are other possibilities. Stay open to them. Stay open to your deepest desires...”
Daisy snatched her hand back, but it is not a fit of temper that makes her shoot out of the chair. “I... Well, I never!” She turns and runs, her heart beating wild with excitement.
Back in her tent, Magica De Spell leans back. That was a start. She is patient. She can wait.

this is a lovely story btw, the little details say so much!

1) Going on a date with Gladstone so Donald has to scramble to win back her favour/beat Gladstone somehow.
2) Irrationally demanding girlfriend (carry my shopping, buy me things, show an interest in my specific interests or I will be mad, etc.)
3) Diarist, actually.
The diarist stories were an aberration because they were all about her and her concerns and not about motivating Donald. And they were SEEPED in a specific kind of femininity. I think majorly performing femininity has been an aspect to Daisy from the start and I also think that may be because the original cartoon (Mr Duck Steps Out) amped it up to the max specifically because she's basically Donald, but a girl. So her personality and design is Girl. And I think that's surprisingly fertile ground for subversive fanfiction.
(I swear I'm not a furry. I am just really into the Disney ducks.)
And thank you!
