"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"

Summary: Most people don't dare try to pull Franziska away from her work, but Maya likes a challenge.

Just because she has a girlfriend now doesn't mean she's going to just drop her career and spend all her time being a lovesick fool. She's not just a prosecutor, she's a von Karma, and tomorrow's trial is too important.

Her girlfriend, unfortunately, doesn't see it that way. Maya Fey understands the importance of these things, having worked with Mr. Phoenix Wright for as long as she has, but that's never stopped her from thinking it was okay to simply waltz in and try to drag her places.

Franziska doesn't even bother to ask who it is when she hears the usual knock. Groaning, she puts the paperwork down and answers the door.

"The hobby shop has new Pink Princess cards!" Maya chirps, and Franziska fights back the urge to go for the whip.

"For this, you interrupt my hard work? Only a foolish fool would-"

"You've been studying that case since this morning! Have you even had anything to eat yet? We'll go for a burger on the way to the shop, and maybe we'll get some ice cream on the way back!"

"Miss Maya Fey..." She pinches the bridge of her nose. As much as she loves Maya, she doesn't love being disturbed before a case, and this particular disturbance is trying her patience. Again, she resists the urge to grab her whip. Not that Maya would mind, given the way she squeals and begs for more when they're alone. "After this trial is complete, we will go shopping."

"And let you work yourself sleepy for three days? Not a chance!" Maya grabs her hand. "Besides, the cards could all be gone by then! They're selling like hotcakes!"

"If that foolish show remains so popular, they merchandise is highly unlikely to run out." Just once, she would like these conversations to end with Maya maturely taking no for an answer and agreeing to arrange these little jaunts for a more convenient time. She wishes today could be that day.

"Please, Frannie?"

The pet name, the cheesy smile, the puppy-dog eyes, the hands clasped in front of her chest. A four-pronged attack, and Franziska realizes today is not going to be that day.

"Let me get my purse."

She's barely gotten the strap over her shoulder before Maya drags her out the door. She's going to be up late making up for lost time preparing for tomorrow's trial.

If she comes home alone tonight.

Suddenly, she has the sneaking suspicion she won't be getting much sleep tonight no matter what happens.

Perhaps she is just a foolish, lovesick fool.
