“May I join you?” Jane asked.

Suzette looked up and smiled. “Mais oui.” She gestured to the open seat. Suzette watched her curiously as she took a long sip from her drink.

Jane sat down as Liberty returned to the table.

“Something looks… different.” Suzette announced.

Liberty grinned. “I know what it is… you got laid last night!”

Jane laughed, “keep your voice down.” She sipped her drink and then added, “last night and this morning.”

“You dog.” Liberty teased gleefully. “So… it was Jovan, right?”

“No.” Jane scoffed.

“So, who then?” Suzette insisted.

Jane shook her head curtly. “I don’t kiss and tell.”

“We’ll find out sooner or later. You can’t have casual sex.” Liberty shrugged.

Me specifically?” Jane’s eyebrows went up.

“Yeah.” Liberty nodded, “you’re a monogamous person. Suzette and I have it down.”

Jane looked over to Suzette who nodded in agreement. She scoffed. “The two of you have casual sex down?”

“Yes.” Suzette insisted.

“You two are the worst kept secret in this sport. You’ve been together longer than I was married. You are not casually sleeping together.”

“Our husbands are okay with us; they know.” Liberty frowned.

“I’m not saying they don’t. I love you guys and I have no judgment. I’m just saying that you are basically committed to each other; yours is a real relationship, it just only happens while you’re on tour.”

Liberty and Suzette sighed in concession but Liberty leaned forward. “Alright. But you think you can do it?”

“I have something going for me that the two of you don’t. I don’t like the woman I’m sleeping with.” Jane grinned triumphantly. “So there’s no danger of falling for her.”

Suzette’s eyes went wide. “You’re sleeping with Miranda Priestly?” She demanded in an urgent whisper.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” Jane leaned in close. “Keep it down… how did you figure that out?”

“Oh my god.” Liberty put her hand over her mouth. “She’s right?”

Jane blushed deep red.

“Hooo-ly shit.” Liberty shook her head in disbelief.

“Miranda Priestly is the only person you don’t like. Other than a complete stranger – not your style – so it’s Miranda Priestly.” Suzette shrugged.

“Fuck me.” Liberty laughed. “How the fuck did that happen?”

“It’s kind of a long story. I took her out for a drink the night after our first match because of the story in the tabloid. We got a little drunk and it was actually kind of fun and freeing. So once we got here, she suggested we make it a thing to go out and drink after the first match each place and we kissed at the bar– you don’t really want to hear all the details, do you?”

Yes.” They agreed in unison.

“Well, we kissed at the bar,” Jane blushed. “We got back to the hotel and– ”

“Who kissed who?”

“She kissed me at the bar. And then I kissed her back at the hotel.” Jane admitted, smiling. “And then, well, like I said, last night and this morning.”
