Summary: Sharon has a crush on Brenda.

Brenda smiled and waved at Sharon. Sharon waved back, smiling widely.

Stop it. You’re a grown ass woman.”

“What?” Sharon asked, blushing.

What.” Gavin scoffed. “You’ve been out for almost thirty years and you go completely to pieces whenever Brenda smiles at you.”

“I do not!” Sharon objected. “I’m… no, she’s… okay, fine. So I have a little bit of a crush.”

“A crush!” Gavin laughed raucously. “Woman, schoolkids get crushes. You are just flat out out of your damn mind.”

“Hi, y’all.” Brenda walked up to the table with her glass of wine. “Mind if I join you?”

“Please.” Sharon grinned.

Gavin cleared his throat. “Well, I’ve actually got to get going. I have that thing.”

“You don’t have a thing.” Sharon said pointedly.

“Oh, I have a thing. I don’t tell you about all my things, Sharon.”

“If you get up from this table, you’re dead to me.” Sharon whispered.

Gavin leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Sharon’s forehead. “I love you too.”

Brenda watched him leave. “Was it something I said?” She chuckled.

Sharon laughed a little too loud and then winced at herself. She cleared her throat. “So, no Agent Howard tonight?”

Brenda frowned.

Sharon’s heart sped up. “I’m sorry… I…”

“No, it’s okay.” Brenda waved her off. “It was a long time coming. I’ve had my own apartment for months and finally he just took a job in Seattle.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah.” Brenda sipped her wine.

A silence spread out between them. Sharon was kicking herself for bringing up Fritz and cursing Gavin for leaving her alone to flounder like this.

“So, I was-“ “What are you-?” They began at the same time.

The two women chuckled. “Go ahead.” Brenda gestured.

“I, um.” She looked down at her phone. “I think I actually have to go. I’m sorry.”

“Oh, okay.” Brenda blinked in surprise.

“It was really lovely seeing you though.” Sharon put her purse on her shoulder and offered an exaggerated smile before turning on her heel.

Outside on the sidewalk, she let out a growl of frustration. “I’m an idiot.” She cursed. “What is wrong with me? I can talk to a woman. I’m not that sort of person. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.”

She pulled out her phone, preparing to call Gavin and give him a piece of her mind when she heard hurried footsteps catching up with her.

Sharon turned in time to see Brenda stopping in front of her. Sharon watched her curiously and Brenda held out her credit card. “Thought you might need this.”

“Oh.” Sharon blushed, taking the card and shoving it into her pocket, her hands buried deep in her pockets with embarrassment. “Thanks.”

“You know they put like a huge tip on left behind credit cards, right?” Brenda smiled.

“I didn’t know that. I don’t think I’ve ever forgotten my card.” Sharon admitted.

“Can I ask you something?” Brenda said slowly. “And I’m not trying to embarrass you or anything and please feel free to tell me to mind my own stinkin’ business. My mama always said I needed to be in everybody’s business and people don’t like it-”

“What’s your question, Chief?” Sharon interjected.

“Did I do something wrong? I mean, I felt like we were friends or maybe starting to be friends?” Brenda asked sheepishly. “But lately it seems like you’ve been taking great pains to not be alone with me. I was just wondering… is there a reason why?”

Sharon opened her mouth to speak. Her whole body flushed, frozen in indecision.

Brenda’s face fell and she nodded slowly. “It’s okay. You don’t have to say… I just wanted to see if… well, I won’t bother you anymore. Sorry.”

She turned to leave and Sharon opened her mouth again, the proper words not leaping to mind yet again. She reached out and took Brenda’s hand. “Chief.”

Brenda turned around questioningly and Sharon used her free hand to cup Brenda’s cheek and she pressed a firm but chaste kiss to Brenda’s lips.

The two separated and Brenda blinked. “Wow…”

Sharon flushed again, releasing the blonde. “Oh my God. I shouldn’t have done that. I’m so sorry…”

Brenda cupped Sharon’s cheeks and pulled her in for a kiss. It was slow and languid at first, acquainting themselves to the other’s lips. Then Brenda parted her lips invitingly and the kiss deepened. Sharon wrapped her arms around Brenda’s waist.

“Say cheese, ladies.” Gavin giggled from the street.

Sharon startled, turning to Gavin and then hiding her face. “Gavin!” She hissed in annoyance.

“I had to come back because I forgot my credit card.” He grinned, starting to type. “Oh my God, I am sending this to everybody.”

“Gavin, don’t you dare.” Sharon gritted her teeth.

Brenda’s phone blipped, Sharon’s phone beeped and Sharon’s nostrils flared. She started forward and Brenda’s grip on her hand tightened.

“Let people talk. Who cares?” Brenda purred. “Besides, I’m sure we can come up with something good to use to get back at him.”

Sharon grinned, allowing Brenda to pull her into another kiss.

Title: Missed Appointment
Author: Coco | [personal profile] streeptastic | grrriliketigers on AO3
Fandom: The Closer/Major Crimes | Brenda/Sharon
Prompt: 150: Remainder | 142: Clock
Word Count: 405
Summary: Sharon and Brenda sleep in

Sharon stirred and stretched. Brenda’s arms tighten around her, their nude bodies still entwined. Sharon turned around in the other woman’s arms and captured her lips softly.

Brenda smiled. “G’morning.” She murmured.

“Morning.” Sharon tucked a stray lock of blonde ringlet behind Brenda’s ear. “You know… I don’t normally just jump right into bed.”

Sharon’s lips kissed a trail across Brenda’s clavicle.

“Me neither.” Brenda smiled. “But, really, we’ve known each other for years.”

“That’s true.” Sharon agreed, continuing down Brenda’s body. “So, in actuality, this was long overdue.”

“I think that’s an accurate assessment.” Brenda nodded, biting her lip as Sharon disappeared under the covers.

A loud knock on the front door startled both women. “Ignore it.” Sharon instructed, starting to slip back under the covers. A string of knocks, followed by insistent presses of the doorbell and then more knocking.

Sharon winced. “What time is it?”

“What?” Brenda snorted. “Who is that?”

“It’s Gavin.” Sharon sighed, pulling her robe on and looking at the time on her phone. “I forgot to set my alarm clock. I’ll get rid of him.” Sharon stole a kiss and then disappeared into the hallway.

“Gavin, stop!” Sharon called, yanking the door open. “Do you mind?”

“Yes, I do mind.” He put his hands on his hips. “Girlfriend is late. Girlfriend is never late. Explain yourself.”

“I had kind of a late night last night. I’m not going to brunch this week.”

“Girlfriend did not text to say she wasn’t coming.”

Stop that.” Sharon folded her arms across her chest.

“What kept you up so late last night…?” Gavin asked pointedly, trying to peer around her. “Because the last time I saw you you were sucking face with Ms. Brenda Leigh Johnson.”

Sharon smirked.

“You slut.” Gavin grinned. “Gimme all the details.”

“I’m not giving you details.” She scoffed.

Gavin’s eyes lit up. “She’s still here.”

“Yes, she is. Okay?” Sharon sighed, “so, would you please…?”

“Wait for you to get dressed? Yes.”

No.” She laughed, rubbing her eyes. “I’m not going to brunch.”

“Nothing I can do is going to get you out of the apartment?”

Sharon nodded curtly. “You got it.”

“Alright, fine.” He held his hands up in defeat and Sharon closed the door in his face. “Rude.” He grumbled.

Sharon strolled back to her bedroom. Brenda was propped up against the pillows, sporting a grin.

“Now, where were we?” Sharon purred, dropping her robe.
