inevitableentresol for making sure the fight scene wasn't a complete mess
Her lungs were almost bursting from the running and jumping around, and her legs were screaming for her to just stop and take a break, but she couldn't. Sarutobi was around in the park, she had clearly seen her run in from the front gate, and the prints of her boots unmistakably stopped just a few meters before. She had to be there, it wasn't like she could fly away or-
"But then again", Tsukuyo said out loud between ragged breaths as she slipped a kunai out of her sleeve, "what else could our dear Sarutobi do better... than jump like a little monkey, eh?" And with that she threw the blade towards the foliage of the most bushy tree she had in front of herself.
And thankfully luck was on her side, as a loud scream first, then the sight of Ayame falling off that same tree had proved her intuition right.
Ayame barely had the time to realize she was fine, having landed on a bed of leaves that cushioned her fall, and next thing she knew Tsukuyo was straddling her, pointing another kunai to her throat.
"I wi-." Tsukuyo said with emphasis, but before she could even finish saying those two simple, short words Ayame had managed to roll around on her back and, as soon as she was on top of the other woman, had quickly gotten back on her feet.
A quick dash forward, to put as much distance as possible between her and Tsukuyo, but as she ran she felt something hitting the back of her head, and all of a sudden her sight had become blurred and muddled. After a first moment of natural worry she froze in place, and quickly understood what the problem was: Tsukuyo had managed to knock her glasses off. As if not knowing where to go wasn't enough, there was also the fact that if she took any careless step forward she run the risk of stepping on them.
"Well played, Tsukki. Underhanded, but well played."
"As I was about to say... I win." Tsukuyo replied as she walked towards Ayame, picking up her glasses and putting them back on her nose.
"Do you? It took me only ten minutes to catch you, you left me waiting for a good half hour. And I didn't even have to almost crush your skull to stop you."
"I thought you were into that kind of stuff..." The other replied, a sarcastic grin on her face, while casually fixing the hair on the back of her head.
Ayame rose an eyebrow. "You really think broken bones are a turn on?"
Tsukuyo snickered. "Nevertheless, you fell off a tree and didn't even flinch, being hit with the handle of a kunai should be nothing to you."
"Which should make it another point for me." Ayame replied as she adjusted her glasses. "But to be completely fair, how about another round to decide the real winner?"
"Sounds good to me. My turn to run, then." Tsukuyo replied. "And if you can beat your record and catch me in less than ten minutes, then I'll be convinced that you might really deserve a prize for your efforts."
"Then shut up and start running." Ayame commanded, a cocky grin on her face.
