Cay picked up the bottle of whiskey from the bar and poured herself a shot. Silver sat beside her, nodding consolingly as Cay continued to talk.
“What am I supposed to feel? Regret? I don't regret kissing Vivian. I don't regret taking her out after the wedding and seeing if this- whatever it is- I'd been chasing for months was real. And you know what? It was real. No one kisses back like that if it isn't.”
“So what are you going to do now?”
“I tried calling her hotel. She didn't answer. Maybe she wasn't there. Or maybe she figured it was me. All I know is that there's not a lot of time before she heads back to New York and if I don't see her before then, well, that will be something I regret.”
Silver smiled at her. “Go, get your woman.”
