Challenge 355 - Spine - Game of Thrones - Challenges - Sansa Stark/Brienne of Tarth
Title: Challenges
Fandom: Game of Thrones
Pairing: Brienne of Tarth/Sansa Stark (one-sided)
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 165
Prompt: 355- spine
Summary: Some challenges could be met head-on, others not so much
Ser Brienne of Tarth was a fierce warrior. In combat there were few that were her equal, and it was said that there was rarely a challenge that she wouldn't meet head on.
That was before working at the court of Winterfell and being in Sansa Stark's presence every day. The Lady of Winterfell and Queen of the North had been Brienne's responsibility since Catelyn Stark had requested Brienne's protection for her daughters. It should have been something so simple, something well within her abilities.
Of late, Brienne found herself tongue-tied whenever Sansa was around. Even worse, there were times when Sansa caught her daydreaming and when confronted with Sansa's insinuations and sly grins, Brienne would stammer and deny any lack of focus.
She longed to go to Sansa's rooms late in the evening and knock on the door, but she didn't have the spine for it. Unlike many of the other things, she'd faced in her life, this challenge would need to go unaccepted.
