Notes: This is the 10th story in the series.
Summary: There are a few things to settle before making the "big step".

Alex had found herself thinking about it since yesterday, when Linda had said the magical words: "I'd like to introduce you to my parents, if you don't mind."

Her reply had been a very joyous and positive one, obviously: she was extremely happy to meet with Linda's family, and just by the fact that Linda thought things were going that well between them.

As time passed, however, doubts started to bubble up. As she went about all the possible positives and negatives of this situation, one in particular stuck out to her.

To this day, only her girlfriends, ex and current, and people in her family knew that she was also into women, and only because she had openly told them so one time, back in high school, when she was tired of having to find excuses as to why she kept inviting one of her female classmates to her bedroom, and why when either of their parents opened the door of her bedroom they two of them would be so flustered. Thankfully, her parents had been completely cool with it, as had been almost every other relative of hers.

At the same time, none of her relationships ever since then had lasted more than six months, for a reason or the other. Because of this, she had never reached that point. So, the idea of having to meet with Linda's parents would have basically meant coming out, even if only to a small group of people.

It had been so easy doing so more than twenty years ago, to her parents, but now the thought of letting that be known to some more people made her feel queasy. Was it because it was people she had never met before, or just that now she was older, less prone to taking risks - more boring, basically.

Alex thought about it, and sighed. Linda wasn't going to have this kind of problem, was she? She wasn't exactly subtle about being a lesbian, and anyone could have immediately guess that just by seeing her.
At that thought, she let out a laugh to herself. It would have been an interesting sight to behold, Linda introducing herself to her family. If anything, it would have given her some more ideas about how to act when it would have been her turn, she thought.

With that in mind, she picked up her phone and, just out of a whim, wrote down a message to Linda. It said: I was thinking, would you like to meet my parents first, instead? After some moments of hesitation she added: This situation makes me a bit nervous, and that would help.

She sent the message, and the answer arrived quickly. Sure! But what are you nervous about?

With that, Alex felt much more relieved. Smiling to herself, she replied: Well, it's a bit of a silly thing. Do you have a few free minutes?
