[Janelle Monae lyrics] Prompt 13 - Come, let me kiss you right there wake you up like sunrise
Title: First breakfast
Fandom: Original story
Characters/Pairings: Alexandra/Linda
Rating: Gen
Words: 715
Prompt: Come, let me kiss you right there wake you up like sunrise
Notes: This is the 3rd story in the series.
Summary: The morning after the first time.
Making as little noise as she could, Alex slowly moved off the bed, instinctively cursing under her breath when the springs creaked. She waited a few seconds, to make sure that the other was still asleep, and stood up.
She grabbed some underwear and a t-shirt from her closet and, walking on her tiptoes, she reached the bathroom. When she was done there, she headed to the kitchen and started to prepare coffee; only after turning on the coffee machine she started to wonder if her guest did even like coffee - then again, 80% of times coffee was the best choice, and if not she had some black tea in the cupboard.
Well, that woman didn't really look like the type that would sip tea in the morning. By the way, what was her name again? Oh yes, Linda.
When the coffee was ready, she walked out of the kitchen and returned to the bedroom, to see if the woman was awake already. Just as she was on the doorstep, the other woman appeared right in front of her; Alex hadn't even noticed her at first, and when she did she let out a small yelp.
"Morning." Linda said, scratching the back of her head. She had put back on the t-shirt she had been wearing the night before.
"Oh... good morning." Alex replied. "Sorry if I scared you."
"That'd be my line. You okay?"
Alex gave her a smile. "Of course, don't worry. I prepared some breakfast."
"Thanks, I need to use the bathroom first."
"Ah, of course. It's on the right, the second door. There are some clean towels in the cabinet. And a couple toothbrushes, too."
"Okay, thanks a lot." Linda said, smiling back.
"It's nothing." Alex replied before going back to the kitchen. While waiting for Linda, she laid the table with calm, and went through all possible conversation arguments she had had with her yesterday, at the club - those morning after conversations were always awkward, but this time she really wanted to make a good impression on Linda, she really seemed like a nice woman.
As she thought about her better, Alex remembered something; she looked in her fridge for a few oranges, and prepared some juice.
While she was pouring it in a glass, Alex heard the noise of the door of the bathroom opening. Instinctively, she fixed her hair, and laughed when she realized what she had done.
"Thanks for everything, again." Linda said as she walked into the kitchen.
"You don't have to thank me, I told you." She replied, putting the glass down and sitting at the table. "I'm not sure what your tastes might be, so I tried a bit of everything."
"Wow, that's too kind." Linda said, sitting down in front of her. "But if you don't mind, I'll get some juice. It's orange, right?"
"Sure, help yourself." From the way Linda had described herself, and after caressing her arms a few times the night before going to sleep, it was clear that she really liked pumping iron, so Alex had assumed she might have also been into eating and drinking more healthily.
Or maybe it was just that most people love orange juice. Still, she enjoyed it, and that was what counted.
As Linda finished drinking and helped herself to some more fruit, she also stood silent and looked back at Alex, when all of a sudden she said: "By the way, you look real cute without all that make up!"
"Oh..." Alex said, confused and weirded out by how out of nowhere that came. Still, a part of her had to admit she also felt flattered - though less by the compliment itself, and more by the fact she had made an impression.
Seeing her reaction, Linda's expression turned serious. She shook her head and said:
"Dammit, sorry, I really need to put a cork in it. Sorry, I didn't mean-"
"It's okay, I understand what you meant to say." Alex replied, calmly speaking over her again. "And don't worry about that, I think you're really cute, too."
If there was moment when Alex would have wanted to have a camera in her hands, it was that one, to snap a few pictures of Linda's expressions. Especially when she started laughing out loud.
