Eve's lover curls above her like the sky, a pale goddess painted on papyrus. Eve reaches out to her, takes her by the hips. There is a mythology sizzling between them, or perhaps it's the weed, like reeds on an ancient river-shore tangled up into a blunt, but then Prudence's mouth connects with Eve’s wetness, kisses her between the legs and Eve kisses her back, connected like a Möbius strip in the mess of her sheets.

There is the sound of a car-horn, the screeching of tires outside her window, the city’s cries, but Eve is flying among the stars.
