[225] The Space Between (Bangtan Boys)

Title: The Space Between
Fandom: 방탄소년단 | Bangtan Boys | BTS
Characters/Pairings: Min Yoonji/Kim Namsoon (Kim Army)
Rating: Teen
Words: 300
Notes: Guns are a way of getting rid of boys, and getting girls, apparently.

(Could I get a tag for this fandom? Honestly I don't even know what to call it, I just copypasted the fandom name from AO3, I think any of those three would be good enough.)

Space is something Min Yoonji is used to demanding. Schools, buses, her weekend job, even at home, it’s never something she can take for granted. It gets a while for the kids at a new school to get the message and start leaving her alone. That's normal.

Once they do, they either leave her alone or step it the fuck up. So she's not exactly surprised when some self-assured asshole saunters into her vicinity with his boys not far behind, showing off to them as much as to her.

One blank fired right at the ground and he goes running. Yoonji allows herself a little smile as the clamor of schoolboys disappears down the hallway. She'll get in trouble, she always does, and it's always worth it.

"That was so cool!"

There's a tall, lanky girl hanging on the railing of a stairway going up to the third floor. Yoonji remembers her from English class. Kim something. Always the same boyband on her pencil case and bag, her iPhone cover and notebook. She's amazing at English, though.

"Is that a real gun, like in America?"

"No," Yoonji says. "No need to be scared."

"I'm not. It's neat. I mean, if it's not real. I'm anti-violence, uh, I think." She tucks a bit of hair behind an ear, and Yoonji is struck by that rare but recognizable pulse of attraction. Huh.

She holds the gun up. "I lied. It's real. Wanna come and see?"

The girl stares, then her lips part in a hesitant smile, and Yoonji knows she's got her.

-

Min Yoonji likes her space. But with Namsoon resting against her side as they both play around on their phones during recess, and with the memory of her hand in hers, it doesn't seem like such a high priority.
