Prompt Table Challenge - Morning Glory & Poppy
Title: Salt in Our Wounds
Fandom: Original
Pairing: Jensine & Jackie
Rating: PG- 13
Prompt: The Language of Flowers – Morning Glory
Word Count: 242
Summary: If Jensine keeps telling herself everything is fine, then it will be.
Jensine looked at Jackie and smiled. It was killing her to do so, but this was Jackie's day. She wouldn't ruin it. She was going to be the best damned maid of honor she could. She could deal with her feelings in private later. Jensine thought she had reconciled with herself years ago that Jackie just didn't feel that way about her and that being friend was enough. It had been. They were ridiculously close. Jensine kept her feelings to herself. Everything was fine.
Then Jackie started dating Linton, further cementing that Jensine was barking up the wrong tree. Even that had been fine though. They were cute together, clearly made for each other. They had the same demented sense of humor and their strong suits filled in the gaps of the other's weaknesses. More importantly, Jackie was happy, like Jensine was not aware human beings could actually achieve that state of joy. And it wasn't like Jackie had been one of those people that dumped their friends over a new relationship. Hell, Jackie had almost been too inclusive with Jensine into some aspects of their lives.
Once the wedding planning began though, Jensine had been in total denial over how much it was affecting her. She kept telling herself that it was fine, honestly, truly, nothing was going to change, it was great.
Standing at the altar watching Jackie marry Linton was like being rolled through shards of glass.
But it was fine.
Title: Three A.M.
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairing: Jody/Rowena
Rating: PG
Prompt: The Language of Flowers - Poppy
Word Count: 149
Summary: Sleeping should not be this difficult.
It was three a.m. Rowena was pretty sure she was never sleeping again. The clock in the family room ticked away, mocking her. The faucet dripped. She couldn't decide if she was too hot or too cold. Rowena had never had trouble sleeping alone before. She refused to believe that not having a Jody sized furnace in bed next to her making that little wheezing sound was making that much of a difference now. Clearly, the new bedding was too scratchy for her delicate skin and caring for two boys on her own was too stressful. It was going to wreak havoc on her skin, she was sure of it. A new face mask, some ear plugs, satin pajamas, and a massage would clear everything up, she was certain.
To be safe though, once she got back, Jody was never allowed to go to an out of town conference again.
